TORRE DEL LAGO PUCCINI

Mattina. Mio marito mi propone un giro, appena ci svegliamo.
Rifletto un po’ e, poi, entusiasta e felice, esclamo:
“Torre del Lago! Torre del Lago Puccini!”. Ci prepariamo
e, con grande gioia, l’autostrada imbocchiamo,
uscendone per percorrere la Via Aurelia verso la zona pucciniana.
Oltrepassiamo varie città, fra cui la Livorno mascagniana,
arrivando a Torre del Lago, dove la Guida accompagna nella visita
della Villa-Museo del Maestro. Sono innamorata della musica
di Puccini e mostro alla Guida il guadagnato gettone
nel bongiorniano “Rischiatutto”, famosa e televisiva trasmissione.
La casa l’avevo vista solamente a mezzo del film girato sul Maestro,
con Gabriele Ferzetti, che interpreta tale persona dal grande estro
artistico e che, verso le sue eroine, nutre molta sensibilità gentile.
Finalmente, vedo dal vivo il suo pianoforte e la sua tomba “civile”
nel mausoleo della villa fatto costruire dal figlio del compositore.
Un omaggio è stato reso erigendo il monumento sul Belvedere di Torre.
Puccini aveva chiamato la sua barca come la sua Butterfly amata.
Barca che percorreva il mare di Viareggio, dov’era anche ormeggiata.
Viareggio: dopo Torre del Lago, sulla spiaggia, vediamo un ristorantino
senza pretese, ma in cui ci lecchiamo i baffi per il buon “spuntino”.
Dopodiché, Pisa. Qui, il grande Galileo Galilei è nato.
1583: nella Cattedrale pisana, osserva una lampada oscillante e, da scienziato,
formula la Teoria dell’Isocronismo del Pendolo”. A Pisa, presenziano
due Sedi: Università “Normale di Pisa” e Consiglio delle Ricerche italiano.
E’ sera. Siamo stanchi e soddisfatti. Vorremmo cenare e riposare
ma, a Pontremoli c’è “il tutto occupato”: optiamo per tornare
a casa nostra (dopotutto, è una buonissima soluzione
che ci porta a riposare ottimamente nel nostro lettone).

Morning. My husband offers me a ride as soon as we wake up.
I reflect a bit and then, enthusiastic and happy, I exclaim:
“Torre del Lago! Torre del Lago Puccini!”. We get ready
and, with great joy, we take the highway,
leaving it to walk the Via Aurelia towards the Puccini area.
We pass various cities, including Mascagni’s Livorno,
arriving in Torre del Lago, where the Guide accompanies the visit
of the Master’s Villa-Museum. I’m in love with music
by Puccini and show the Guide the earned token
in Bongiorno’s “Rischiatutto”, a famous television programme.
I had only seen the house through the film shot on the Master,
with Gabriele Ferzetti, who plays this person with great artistic flair
and who, towards his heroines, nurtures a lot of gentle sensitivity.
Finally, I see live his piano and his “civil” grave
in the mausoleum of the villa built by the composer’s son.
A tribute was paid by erecting the monument on the Belvedere di Torre.
Puccini had named his boat after his beloved Butterfly.
Boat that traveled the sea of Viareggio, where it was also moored.
Viareggio: after Torre del Lago, on the beach, we see a small restaurant
unpretentious, but in which we lick our mustaches for the good “snack”.
After that, Pisa. Here, the great Galileo Galilei was born.
1583: in the Pisan Cathedral, he observes a swinging lamp and, as a scientist,
formulates the Theory of Isochronism of the Pendulum”. In Pisa, I attend
two locations: “Normale di Pisa” University and the Italian Research Council.
It’s evening. We are tired and satisfied. We would like to have dinner and rest
but, in Pontremoli there is “all busy”: we opt to return
in our house (after all, it’s a very good solution
which leads us to rest well in our Latvian).
